March 2019 - November 2021
This $60M Design-Build project for the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) includes the design and construction of a new Interchange at Route 7 and Battlefield Parkway. The new interchange will replace the at-grade signalized intersection and provide traffic congestion relief, improved safety and enhanced mobility for bicyclists and pedestrians along the corridor, and improved storm water management.
Once completed, Battlefield Parkway will be constructed to run over Route 7. A two-span precast I-Girder bridge will be built over Route 7 during a 10-month detour of Battlefield Parkway. Two roads will be constructed to allow access for businesses that will be impacted by the construction along Route 7, aiding VDOTs desire to convert Route 7 to a Limited Access highway.
