Wagman’s Geotechnical Construction group performed work for the Knauf Insulation Plant, located in Inwood, WV. As part of the $20.5M plan upgrades to the existing facility, the Wagman team installed an earth retention system for a deep foundation to support the plant’s new machinery. Also for this contract, 131 micropiles were drilled and cased into bedrock ranging between 20’ to 80’ in depth.

Key Challenges & Project Details

  • Wagman was contracted to work double crews, both day and night, to meet an accelerated schedule. This timeline was crucial in order to meet the structural schedule. Wagman met the deadline with days to spare.
  • Wagman worked to create a dustless environment while drilling with two drills inside the insulation plant.
