The Long Bridge South project is part of Virginia’s $2.3 billion Long Bridge Project, which includes construction of a new two-track railroad bridge and an adjacent bicycle-pedestrian bridge over the George Washington Memorial Parkway and the Potomac River. At completion, the two new tracks will enable separation of passenger and freight rail traffic across four tracks to enhance transportation connectivity and efficiency in the region.

Long Bridge Rail Partners – the joint venture of Wagman Heavy Civil, Trumbull Corp, Fay, S&B USA Construction – was selected by the Virginia Passenger Rail Authority as the design-build contractor to deliver the South Package, a key component of the Long Bridge Project.

Construction on the project is expected to begin in the spring of 2026.

Key Challenges & Project Details
