(York, PA) Wagman Heavy Civil, Inc. received the 2025 Best Infrastructure Project – Less than $50M Award from the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) – National Capital Chapter for the Route 234 Brentsville Road Interchange project. Members of the project team accepted the award during the Project Awards & Scholarship Dinner on Thursday, June 26, in Tysons Corner, VA.
The $49.1M design-build project, funded by the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority, was Wagman’s first Public-Private Transportation Act (PPTA) project. It relieves congestion with a new, grade separated interchange that minimizes traffic signals and improves the roadway and overall safety. Two new bridges were built over Route 234, allowing vehicles traveling along the intersecting roads to avoid stopping. It also includes a shared-use path, separating pedestrians from vehicular traffic by means of a barrier on one of the bridges. Additionally, a new, truss-style pedestrian bridge was built over Route 234 further east, allowing users to seamlessly cross over Route 234.
“Through collaboration, our team safely delivered this quality project ahead of schedule,” comments Greg Andricos, President and COO of Wagman Heavy Civil. “We are excited to share this win with our project partners and our dedicated and innovative team.”
