Wagman Heavy Civil Erects Girders for New Bridge at MD 152 Interchange

(York, PA) Wagman Heavy Civil began erecting steel girders Wednesday night for the MD 152 Interchange Reconstruction project, located in Harford County, MD. The existing MD 152 overpass is being reconstructed over I-95 to facilitate widening of the interstate to accommodate two new Express Toll Lanes (ETLs) and four general purpose lanes in each direction.

The $196M project for the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDTA), is a Joint Venture of Wagman Heavy
Civil, Inc. and Allan Myers, Inc. In addition to the full interchange reconstruction, the project also permanently removes the Old Mountain Bridge and existing Park & Ride lot. New signage, stormwater management and landscaping are among other improvements throughout the project limits.

The project team is coordinating the bridge superstructure construction with the joint venture partners, High Steel and Roadsafe Flaggers, with assistance from the local police department. The girders, which are 130 feet long, are being installed using two, 160-ton crawler cranes with construction occurring overnight to minimize traffic disruptions. It is expected to take three weeks.

“Wagman is excited to achieve this major project milestone on schedule,” shares Greg Andricos, President and COO of Wagman Heavy Civil. “We’re glad to roll up our sleeves once again and work hand in hand with Allan Myers in the joint delivery of another critical highway construction project in Maryland.”
