The Village at Rockville, a senior living community in Rockville, MD, continues to see progress as Wagman advances cottage conversion work across the campus. The project includes the transformation of existing residences into modern duplex homes designed to support accessible, single‑story living.
The updated homes feature bright, functional layouts with an emphasis on everyday convenience. Enhancements include contemporary living spaces filled with natural light, generous closet space, ample storage, and private patios that allow residents to enjoy their surroundings.
Work continues throughout the community as part of a broader effort to enhance the campus. Wagman remains focused on delivering high‑quality, functional spaces that support comfort, accessibility, and quality of life for residents.
Key Challenges & Project Details
-
Structural Issues: Unforeseen conditions required reinforcing existing walls and adding supports for vaulted ceilings.
-
Utility Upgrades: The team rerouted underground utilities and update the electrical system to meet current codes.
-
Occupied Building: Some areas were occupied during construction, so we carefully managed work to avoid disrupting residents.
-
Compressed Timeline: In Phase 1, unexpected delays required us to finish punch-list items while residents were moving in.
-
Customization Coordination: Offered finish choices to residents added complexity, but we managed it with a clear process that improved satisfaction and helped with leasing.
