The project team accepts the Modal Award - Project over $5M
(York, PA) The Maryland Quality Initiative (MdQI) hosted the 2026 MdQI Awards Banquet on April 9, 2026, recognizing innovation, quality and leadership across the transportation industry. The awards are open to engineers and contractors who successfully deliver public sector transportation projects in the state of Maryland.
Wagman received the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) Modal Award – Project over $5M and the Partnering – Gold Award for the Rehabilitation of Ten Bridges at I-95 / I-695 project.
Located in Baltimore County, MD, the project included the rehabilitation of bridge decks and parapets on 10 bridges for the Maryland Department of Transportation SHA. Progressing through 19 phased work areas, the three-year project improved safety and extended the lifespan of these structures. Structures included seven steel girder bridges, two voided concrete slab bridges and one multi-cell concrete box beam bridge. Wagman furnished and installed Latex Modified Concrete (LMC) overlay on seven I-95 mainline bridges and installed Modified Mix 6 Concrete on three ramp bridges to and from I-695.

Greg Andricos, President and COO of Wagman Heavy Civil, comments, “This project merits special recognition for developing and implementing viable, innovative methods to extend the life and improve the safety of multiple interstate structures. The outstanding project team safely achieved these goals while working on active interstates and delivered the project one month early, reducing impacts to travelers.”
