Woolridge Road Extension

The Woolridge Road Extension project is a $42M project for the Chesterfield County Department of Transportation. This infrastructure improvement will enhance connectivity, improve traffic flow and support continued growth in the surrounding communities in Midlothian and Moseley, VA.

The project involves constructing a new roadway to extend Woolridge Road approximately 1.25 miles, between State Route 288 and Old Hundred Road. This four-lane road will include a new traffic signal at Route 288 and a roundabout at Old Hundred Road. The project also features twin bridges, each measuring 700 FT in length and comprised of five piers and 30 concrete girders. A shared-use path and sidewalk will be built along the new roadway, improving access for pedestrians and cyclists.

Construction on the project began in May 2026 and is expected to be complete summer 2028.
