The Mark at State College

Wagman’s Geotechnical Construction group was contracted by Landmark Construction to provide excavation support for a new twelve-story high-rise with three levels of underground parking. Located in downtown State College, the site presented significatn logistical challenges, requiring careful coordination and sequencing of work.

The project included over 27,000 SF of soil nail and shotcrete wall around the perimeter of excavation. Soldier piles were installed where adjacent structures prevented soil nail installation, with select piles requiring an additional low-headroom drill rig due to overhead electrical lines. The project also required the finished shotcrete face to maintain a tight 1-inch tolerance, which was achieved through careful survey and field quality control measures throughout construction.
