Appell Center for the Performing Arts Renovations

The renovations for The Appell Center for the Performing Arts, located in downtown York, PA, were completed by the end of September 2023. The scope for this $2.7M project included the replacement of the HVAC system throughout the facility including roof-top units, interior air management devices, and system controls, which improves the efficiency and comfort of the building, as well as reduces energy costs. The project team successfully replaced the rooftop units at the end of July 2023. It required the closure of the surrounding downtown streets and innovative construction processes to safely access the tight project site.

Also part of this project was the renovation of the Strand Theatre concessions areas, which included all-new service equipment and beer taps, as well as improved design and accessibility. 

Lastly, the aging exterior doors were replaced, and accessibility hardware was installed. 

Wagman was excited to be part of this renovation project for the Appell Center to allow them to continue to serve the community as a premier performing arts venue. The Appell Center is a vital part of the York community, and this important renovation project helps to ensure that it continues to thrive for many years to come.
