(Dinwiddie, VA) The East Riverfront Transportation Improvement Project team was recently honored with the 2019 American Public Works Association (APWA) Mid-Atlantic Project of the Year Award in the category of Transportation, between $5M – $25M at the 2019 APWA Annual Mid-Atlantic Chapter Conference in Norfolk, Va., on May 16. The City of Richmond accepted the award on behalf of the team which included Wagman Heavy Civil, Inc. and Whitman Requardt & Assoc. Riverfront improvements consisted of a series of upgrades to the transportation network in the east end of the city and connects to other Richmond projects Wagman previously completed.
This award recognizes the use of innovative construction management techniques, completion of the project on schedule and innovations for time and cost savings, outstanding safety performance and environmental protection, excellent community relations, stakeholder and agency coordination and minimization of public inconvenience during construction.
