Wagman Wins First Place at Spruce’d Up, Benefitting For the Love of a Veteran

(York, Pa.) The Wagman tree, adorned in red, white and blue, honoring our nation’s veterans, took first place during the 2021 Spruce’d Up, A Celebration of Trees event, held at PeoplesBank Park. Wagman conducted an online survey of nonprofits where employees selected For the Love of a Veteran as the benefitting nonprofit agency for the 2021 event.  As the first place winner of Spruce’d Up, For the Love of a Veteran received a $3,000 donation from Traditions Bank on Friday, January 14, 2022 during the kick-off event for FestiveICE at Cherry Lane in downtown York, Pa.

Wagman has worked with For the Love of a Veteran for years to collect supplies for holiday care packages and also direct care packages to employees’ family members who are serving.

Lisa Wagman Glezer, president of Wagman, Inc., comments, “We are proud to employ many Veterans and appreciate the good work that For The Love of a Veteran does to help active and retired military. The Wagman team brought their pride and passion to the tree.”  Glezer adds, “The boots beneath the tree were from one of our own who served overseas and received a holiday care package from us.  We were thrilled to know others in our community connected with our tree, by honoring Veterans with stars on the tree.  It was a terrific event to bring people together in the spirit of the holidays and raise awareness for many wonderful nonprofits in our community.”

Christine Waltz, founder and ceo of For the Love of a Veteran adds, “We appreciate all of the support, the votes and especially those who came and wrote their loved ones names on the stars that adorned the tree. I will cherish those stars.”

Spruce’d Up is a free community event, held on weekends during the holiday season, that allows visitors to vote on their favorite decorated tree, sponsored by local businesses. Wagman invited visitors to share the name of a veteran on a star and hang it on their tree.

For the Love of a Veteran aims to create awareness for the needs of military families and veterans, including sending care packages, supporting families during deployments, or helping in the fight against PTSD. For more information, visit www.fortheloveofaveteran.org.
