The Maryland 404 project received the 2019 DBIA-MAR Honor Award. This $105 million design-build project for Maryland State Highway Administration consisted of the design and construction of MD 404 from a two to four lane divided highway from US 50 to east of Holly Road. Wagman formed a joint venture (404 Corridor Safety Constructors) with David A. Bramble, Inc. and Allan Myers, Inc. to design and construct the nine-mile highway. Wagman served as the managing partner. Project design partners included Wallace, Montgomery & Associates, Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, and RK&K with Century Engineering for Independent Design Quality Assurance.

The Route 7 Widening and Bridge Rehabilitation project received the 2019 DBIA-MAR Merit Award. This $41 million project for the Virginia Department of Transportation reconstructed and widened the structurally deficient Route 7 bridge over Dulles Toll Road and the Airport Access Highway from four lanes to six lanes, and added a 10-foot-wide shared-use path for pedestrians and bikes.

“What could be better than sharing a coveted DBIA chapter award with a great project team? How about celebrating two DBIA chapter awards in the same night with two great project teams,” said Greg Andricos, president and coo of Wagman Heavy Civil. “Wagman is proud to have led two design-build teams in the expedited delivery of two very challenging projects through collaboration with owners who share our sense of urgency.”
