(York, Pa.) Wagman hosted their own summer version of “Take Your Child to Work Day” on Friday, August 2, at both the York, Pa. and Dinwiddie, Va. offices. The annual event, which the company has been hosting for nine years, invited employees to bring their children or their grandchildren to work for a fun filled program for all ages from 9am – 1pm.
Parents and children from the York, Pa. offices began this year’s program with a walking tour of recent and current projects, including Wagman Construction’s “green” office space, the newly renovated 1741 Club at the York Revolution Stadium, the completed York Academy Upper School and the soon to be renovated Keystone Kidspace (located in the former York Armory building). At the Dinwiddie, Va. office, participants began their day with a stretch and flex, relays and a bridge construction competition. Both offices included a safety demonstration, estimating contests, and an interactive presentation featuring Wagman history, careers in construction and current projects. Each child also created a concrete handprint, which they got to decorate and take home. Before lunch, everyone enjoyed the “equipment rodeo” where participants could climb on and learn about construction equipment. After lunch and cold treats, older children and adults had the opportunity to demo virtual reality or shadow their parent for the rest of the day.
“It has been wonderful to see this program evolve over the years and the kids and parents return year after year.
