(York, PA ) Pete Kaplan, CHST, Project Safety Manager at Wagman Heavy Civil, was recently recognized as one of National Safety Council’s “Rising Stars of Safety”. Kaplan is one of forty honorees in the Class of 2015, which includes safety professionals from across the country.
The honorees were chosen based on improvements continuously made within their organization and new initiatives with measurable outcomes – key components of the National Safety Council’s “Journey to Safety Excellence,” a roadmap to build a safe workplace.
According to the National Safety Council website, this program is “an elite group of young safety professionals from a variety of professional backgrounds who have been established among their peers as the next generation in safety culture and leadership.” Each year, this program highlights 40 professionals who “have a track record of demonstrating leadership, innovation and involvement in their organization’s safety culture while promoting continuous safety improvement in the workplace.”
“Safety is a core value at Wagman,” states Mike Glezer, CEO of Wagman, “and we are extremely proud of Pete for earning this recognition and achievement.” Cory Gaye, Corporate Safety Director at Wagman adds, “Pete developed quarterly project audits which are a valuable addition to Wagman’s vigorous safety program. We are happy to see him recognized for his contributions.”
