(Shrewsbury, PA) Wagman Construction, Inc. has been selected as the general contractor for the construction of WellSpan Health’s new state-of-the-art acute care hospital in Shrewsbury, PA. WellSpan has partnered with Emerus on this project, who is the nation’s first and largest operator of neighborhood hospitals. A groundbreaking for the new hospital at 13515 Wolfe Road in Hopewell Township was held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, to celebrate the start of construction.

Neighborhood hospitals offer an innovative approach by providing the services patients need conveniently located within their communities. This 18,000 SF facility will feature a 24/7 emergency department, ten inpatient beds, and diagnostic services, such as ultrasound, CT, X-ray, and laboratory services. The hospital is expected to open in late 2025.
