Children were encouraged to throw paint filled water balloons to decorate canvases at the event.

The 20,000 SF building, originally built in 1913, will have all infrastructure replaced. The new two -story space will encourage exploration and offer educational experiences, including science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) activities and free play, incorporating art, music and music for kids ages six and up.  The flexible programing space will feature a large mess hall, a kitchen lab, digital lab, a multi-purpose room “great hall” with a long display wall, maker tool bar, café and outdoor patio.

“Keystone Kidspace is a wonderful example of going from a glint in the eye to reality through passion to fill a community need,” commented Joe Wagman, chairman of Wagman Construction.  Wagman adds, “Jessica and Jenn’s persistence and persuasive powers overcame many obstacles that would have thwarted others. It is a great honor for us to be on the project team.”

In addition to providing a new destination for families, Keystone Kidspace will be the most recent addition to the revitalization of the northern gateway into the city of York. Wagman completed the York Academy’s Upper School in 2018.
