(York, PA) On Thursday, May 15, 2025, Wagman Construction and Children’s Aid Society held a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the grand opening of the new Werner Early Learning Childcare Center. The event celebrated the dedication of the 15,368 SF facility, which will enable Children’s Aid Society to serve more children and families in the region. The ceremony brought together local leaders, community members, project partners, and supporters to officially open the center.
“We are proud to be part of this important project,” said Jan Wagner, President at Wagman Construction. “This new center will give children and families a safe place where they can get the support and care they need.”
The Werner Early Learning Childcare Center, designed by Core Design Group, includes new spaces for therapy services, support programs, and other resources for children facing challenges. The facility will be offering a range of essential services including child-centered creative arts, play and psychotherapies, a crisis respite nursery (one of only three in Pennsylvania), traditional day childcare, family advocacy, parent education, support groups, and a 24-hour caregiver hotline. The new building will allow the Children’s Aid Society to expand its crisis nursery and offer third-shift childcare services, addressing a critical need in York County where licensed third-shift childcare is currently non-existent.
Wagman Construction started work on the project in 2024 and celebrated progress with a beam signing event last September. The ribbon cutting ceremony marked the official opening of the center, which was finished on time and is ready to welcome children and families in need.
