(York, PA) The Maryland Transportation Builders and Materials Association held their first annual Contractor Supervision Recognition Safety Awards banquet on April 12th to recognize accident-free performances during the 2012 calendar year. Joe Gay of G.A. & F.C. Wagman, Inc. was recognized as responsible for maintaining accident-free worksites on Wagman’s Intercounty Connector, Contracts A and B projects in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties, Maryland.
In 2012, Joe Gay was a Superintendent during the punchlist and final phases of the Intercounty Connector, Contracts A and B projects, two of the five contracts, which create the $1.5 billion 18.8 mile Intercounty Connector that ultimately connects the I-270 corridor in Montgomery County, MD to the I-95/US1 corridor in Prince George’s County, MD. In 2012, Contracts A and B totaled 13,352.5 man-hours and had zero lost time/recordable injuries and zero liability accidents.
