Wagman Collects Items for Troops
Wagman offices in Pennsylvania and Virginia collected extra Halloween candy and other frequently requested items to be included in holiday care packages sent to troops. Wagman’s York, PA offices and Berryville, VA office collected items for Support Our American Recruits (S.O.A.R.), while Wagman’s Dinwiddie, VA office collected items for Operation Gratitude.

Wagman Receives 2016 ENR Regional Best Projects Award
Wagman Heavy Civil, Inc. celebrated receiving the 2016 ENR Regional Best Projects Award for the I-95 Deck Rehabilitation and Joint Modification project in Baltimore, MD. The project was recognized by Engineering News Record (ENR) as 2016’s Best Specialty Contracting Project in the Mid-Atlantic Region. It is the largest Latex Modified Concrete project ever completed in the U.S.

The American Road & Transportation Builders Association-Transportation Development Foundation (ARTBA-TDF) recently recognized Wagman with the ARTBA-TDF 2016 Contractor Safety Award. This award honors American contractors who have implemented exceptional employee safety programs that demonstrate strong management commitment, safety planning, risk assessment, and employee participation.

Wagman Completes Transformation of the Rehabilitation Center at Brethren Village
Wagman Construction has completed the final steps in transforming Brethren Village’s existing independent living apartment building into a 20-bed, 19,470 square foot, short-term rehabilitation center.
With the addition of the Rehabilitation Center, Brethren Village utilizes The Courtyards, the skilled care building, for residents requiring more involved care, while residents on a short-term recovery path can be aided at the Rehabilitation Center.

Wagman Recognized for Superior Safety Performance in Maryland
The Maryland Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) held its annual banquet aboard the U.S.S. Constellation in Baltimore, honoring firms who have achieved “extraordinary safety performance in achieving a combined incident rate of 55% below the national average for our industry sector.”
Wagman Heavy Civil, Inc. was one of 23 firms that were recognized for achieving OSHA recordable rates and lost-time rates below the national average on projects in Maryland.

Wagman Hosts a Summer Version of “Take Your Child to Work Day”
Wagman hosted their annual summer version of “Take Your Child to Work Day” in the York, PA and Dinwiddie, VA offices on Friday, August 5th. The event invites employees to bring their children/grandchildren to work. Older children were welcome to shadow employees for the day and a program for children of all ages was planned from 9 am - 1 pm. This was the first year Wagman hosted the event at the Dinwiddie, VA office, which opened in 2015.

Wagman Construction Builds Largest Independent Living Building for Active Adults in Frederick, MD
Wagman Construction has completed construction of The Lodge at Willow Ponds, a new independent living building for active adults located just 10 minutes from historic downtown Frederick, Maryland. The Lodge is a new amenity-filled apartment building on the Willow Ponds campus.

Wagman Heavy Civil, Inc. recently completed the $54.9M “I-95 Deck Rehabilitation and Joint Modification Project” for the Maryland Transportation Authority. The project was recently recognized by Engineering News Record (ENR) as 2016’s Best Specialty Contracting Project in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Wagman Sponsors Can-struction Contest and Donates Over 2,000 Pounds of Food to Local Charities
Wagman, Inc. sponsored its second annual Can-struction contest. Offices and jobsites were broken into teams and invited to collect canned goods and food for local charities. On the final day, teams had an hour and a half to construct the donations into sculptures. The engineers, creators and contractors prided themselves at delivering their projects “on time, on schedule and under budget.”

Wagman Completes New Leg Up Farmers Market in Manchester Township
Wagman Construction has completed construction on the new Leg Up Farmers Market at 3100 N. George Street in Manchester Township.
The new 18,700-square-foot, full-service grocery store sells all-natural foods, including local produce, artisan cheese, local beef, freshly baked breads, brick-oven pizza, self-service ground peanut butter, prepared food, and fresh seafood.

The Maryland Transportation Builders and Materials Association (MTBMA) recently held their 4th annual Contractor Supervision Recognition Safety Awards Banquet. This event recognized accident-free performances during the 2015 calendar year. Ten Wagman employees were recognized for their leadership, which was responsible for maintaining accident-free worksites on Wagman’s Maryland projects.

Wagman “Goes Orange” to Support for National Work Zone Safety
Wagman demonstrated their support for the 17th Annual National Work Zone Awareness Week from April 11 – 15, 2016. Wagman employees were encouraged to “go orange” for the day on Wednesday, April 13th to help raise awareness and bring national attention to motorist and work zone safety. Jobsite personnel were encouraged to participate and send photos of daily safety activities which include “Stretch & Flex” and “Safety Huddles”, where they discuss potential work zone safety hazards before they start their day.

On February 18, 2016, Wagman’s Geotechnical Construction office in Berryville, Virginia received a Silver Award for their support of the 2015 United Way Northern Shenandoah Valley (NSV) Campaign. The award was presented during the United Way of NSV in Virginia 70th Annual Meeting and Recognition Dinner.
